Killing floor, The tower
One and a half years after "Accident of birth", Bruce put out another album, "The chemical wedding", an ambitious continuation on where the predecessor left off. The line-up is the same as on the "Accident of Birth" album and tour.
Bruce's performance is as solid and strong as ever. Roy Z is once again producing and it is apparent that he is much more comfortable in the producers chair on this album. The sound of the guitars were given a special treat which included the use of bass guitar strings for some heavy low end noise.
The lyrics on this album concerns "the myths and occult science of alchemy and the mystical poetry of William Blake" as Bruce describes them in the biography for the release. And the title suggests a reference to Alisteir Crowley as well, since "The Chemical Wedding" was the working-title for the movie script Bruce wrote a couple of years ago which was based on the life of Mr Crowley.
Also featuring on the album is none other than Bruce's all time hero Arthur Brown who's reading excerpts of William Blake-poetry in between songs, giving the album a nice "gothic" touch.
