Comic Relief, Smear campaign (1992)

This is another one of those "aid" projects. The money from this recording went to mainly Education and Health care in Africa. On this one Bruce sings the old Alice Cooper classic "Elected". The A-side has a version of the song with Rowan Atkinson doing a voiceover in full Mr Bean-mode. The B-side has just the plain track.

The song was recorded and produced at Battery studios in London by Chris Tsangarides (who produced "Tattooed millionaire"). The band on the recording are called Taste which was a precursor to Skin, the support band on the European leg of the "Balls to Picasso" tour, and the band who played on the first (albeit scrapped) version of said album.

The single was released by London Records on April 4 1992. It peaked at No.9 in the British charts and remained in the chart for 5 weeks.

Strangely enough, this track is also appears on the soundtrack to the "Mr Bean" movie, although it's not in the movie at all.
